First check out: Part I {Getting Ready} & Part II {Portraits}
And now on the MAIN EVENT: the ceremony and reception! The ceremony was supposed to be outside, in a beautiful pasture – but, again, weather got in the way. Everyone made peace with it and moved the festivities indoors to the rustic barn space available at the venue (the beautiful Circle R in Flower Mound, TX). And, trust me, no one cared whip about the rain once they ate some awesome comfort food (country fried chicken and mac’n’cheese at the buffet – woo!), had a few drinks and hit the dance floor. It was a heck of a party, and J + T’s friends and family did not hold back on busting out their sweet moves (the photographer may have even gotten in on the action even a little bit … shhh … don’t tell, but I’m a dance floor maniac even with my camera in tow).
These first couple images, are the bride’s father seeing her for the first time all dressed up in her bridal attire. He was meeting up with her just before the ceremony to take their places so he could walk her down the aisle. He cried, she cried and I cried. What an incredibly special moment to bear witness to and be able to photograph, an absolute highlight of the day for me and, really, THE reason I love photographing weddings so much – those authentic, unscripted emotions mean so much, and its so so cool to capture them forever.
This one was just a quick shot we took of Jayme and Tommy, about 10 minutes before the ceremony, just separated by a wall – they didn’t actually see each other that day until Jayme walked down the aisle.
And then THE MOMENT finally arrived, everyone was in their places, the doors at the back flung open and Jayme and her dad came down the aisle. I love the look on Tommy’s face here, he held it together and didn’t quite let the tears flow, but the swell of emotion was so palpable and beautiful.
Now we’re onto the BIG PARTY! Here is Jayme and Tommy’s first dance, followed by their cake cutting and TONS of amazing dance floor shots.
