An alternate title for this post could also be “How to Dress For Your Family Photoshoot 101” because the Gregories nailed it — coordinated but not overly matchy, comfortable but still put-together and colors that complimented the natural landscape. They looked fabulous and made my job super easy, as did the dreamy sunset over Minot Beach in Scituate. The wind and chilly temps, however, were less welcome, but these guys were total champs. We finally abandoned the sand when baby Emerson started openly shivering — I’m not in the business of freezing my little clients! Big sister Charlotte hammed it up for me plenty up on the grass away from the water anyway, so it all worked out.
I really do love family shoots with young children — as unpredictable as they can be, they are always entertaining and almost always manage to show the camera some love (even if its the mischievous kind). When the parents are relaxed, the kids will always be more relaxed and we can all just go with the flow. As I’ve said before, I shoot into the madness not around it, that’s where the best stuff comes from :)
Gregory family — you know how much I love you guys and your girls! I’m so thrilled I got to hang out with you all and capture some magic. Next time we’ll find a nice WARM day! xoxo
{{Oh and, by the way, those eyes on sweet little Emmy? They are totally real, and NOT the product of Photoshop run amok. They really are that blue and amazing, all on their own!}}
