What is better than a newborn baby? ::sigh:: Really, not much. I had my own new baby not all that long ago, and JUST as his squishy newborn-ness was started to fade into regular ol’ infant getting-bigger baby-ness, along came Baby Kathleen. Perfect timing! I got to cuddle and “Ooooo” and “Awwww” and train my lens over another squishy, gorgeous new life. I fell madly in love with this sweet little girl and am sure that she and my little guy are meant to be ;) We’re in the same school district so you never know; life long pals at the very least! Big brother Timmy had a major presence at our session, as he should — so handsome and already so interested and gentle with his baby sister. He melted my heart again and again.
I had a really relaxed, happy session with the P. family at their home on a sunny Saturday. My newborn sessions have no time limit; I’m there to hang out with my camera as long as necessary, between feedings, diaper changes, awake time, nap times, whatever — everyone should feel relaxed, unrushed and in the moment. I’m not big on props, flash set-ups or arduous posing for newborns — a little of each is fine and I’m always up for anything, but my style is much more natural, lifestyle based. Simple, sweet and serene: that’s my motto for newborn sessions.
And I’ve gotta be honest: the P. family is one of my faves. They are so fun and easy-going and so my style. Thank you guys, for being so welcoming, generous and photogenic. It was my honor to photograph your brand-new girl and your family during this precious time in your lives. xoxo
